LiveWire Community Energy will hold their first annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday 8 September at 5pm.

The not-for-profit Community Benefit Society was set up by LiveWire CIC last year to allow local people to invest in renewable energy installations to help lower our carbon footprint and reduce energy bills for the community.

The social enterprise was launched after LiveWire CIC, Warrington’s biggest leisure, libraries and lifestyles provider, identified through their lifestyles services that people and organisations were struggling to pay their energy bills which are increasing year-on-year due to the rising cost of fossil fuels.

Over the last year, a number of local residents and businesses have invested in the share offer to strengthen the supply of local energy and will in turn receive financial return on their investment.

This has allowed for the installation of solar panels on a number of buildings across Warrington including Warrington Community Living’s Heathside Mews, Wargrave House School and Latchford Community Hub.

LiveWire Community Energy’s AGM will be held at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub and will present the opportunity for investors and local residents to review information about how the company has performed in the last year and ask any questions regarding the direction the business will take in the future.

Jan Souness, chair of LiveWire Community Energy’s Board of Directors will lead the meeting and other members of the board will be in attendance.
