The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) aim to make sure that financial markets work well so that consumers get a fairer deal.
This means ensuring that:
- The financial industry is run with integrity
- Firms provide consumers with appropriate products and services
- Consumers can trust that firms have their best interests at heart
To do this the FCA regulate the conduct of over 50,000 businesses and for many of these they also consider whether they meet prudential standards that reduce the potential harm to the industry and consumers if they fail. Livewire Community Energy is registered with the FCA registration number 7074. As well as appointing an external independent auditor we have to submit an annual return to the FCA on the operation of the Society.
Please note: that our share offer is not regulated by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 because shares in Livewire Community Energy are not 'securities' for the purpose of those regulations. If the business fails members have no right of complaint to the Financial Ombudsman and the money you pay for your shares is not covered by any depositor protection scheme.
